Just got back from a weekend on the Selway and thought I'd share a few pics of this beautiful place.
The cutthroat were being very picky and it took me a whole day to figure out what they would eat. I threw them several caddis types, hoppers, stone flies, mosquito, renegade, royal wolf, tried sinking and stripping them back sculpin types...and finally started getting them to rise on a brown bodied parahopper. It looked very similar to a hatched out perrywinkle and I think that's why they were taking it.
The pic of me is from quite a ways away, but the fish in my hand is a 14.5" cut that fell for the above parahopper. Had a great time, got a thunder storm most everyday with some rain but that kept the bugs down and the dust too.
