More progress on swaging (without an expensive press) .010 brass screen into sabots. I read that sometimes teflon tape was used to patch a bullet instead of paper. I placed four strips of teflon tape over the die, then put the screen over the tape and die. Lightly swaged the screen into the tape and die using the handheld punch. The results are excellent. What could be better than teflon impregnating the brass screen and acting as both a sealer and lubricant. Here is what the sabots look like after slugging the sabots with a bullet in my rifle.

The bullets are a little hard to start down the muzzle, but I fixed that by building a bullet starter that works like a dent puller, but taps the bullet down the barrel. Once the sabot has seated on the lands, it is easy to seat it using the ramrod.
