Is the barnes Bullet alignment tool necessary, or a marketing ploy? One of the reasons I was considering a new ramrod was to have the alignment tool, but if it isn't necessary, I can spend money on other necessities.

A bit pricey but good stuff no-doubt. Ive been using their loading jag on starters and the original (cleaning / loading) on all the range rods. ON that subject, since you cant get the knight ultimate rods anymore, I have been using a few of these http://www.trackofthewolf.com/Categories/PartDetail.aspx/566/1/RAMROD-C-36-10 really great rods. 5/16 so work on .32 cal on up. Ive used them to even pull a few stuck loads and dryballs on sidelocks and I cant even abuse the handle off. Just a tad long if anything, and I like a polymer bore guide better on the larger calibers. Comes in 36" or 44" and either 10-32 or 8-32 thread
