I was shooting .50 T/C cheap sabots from my T/C Hawken flintlock the other day. I normally shoot r/b's but decided to give these a go.
First two shots were touching at 35 yards.
After that it started throwing the sabots about 4 inches + from P.O.A.
Using 3F schutzen BP.
Is this normal?
I don't swab between shots when shooting patched r/b's.
Maybe its more necessary to swab with sabots?

Prob just doesn’t like those bullets/load (the first two just happened to hit near one another and gave you a false sense of hope).

Swabbing between shots is mandatory with sabots. Bh209 excepted.
The " Cheap Shots" are good loads! 8 deer between me and Baby Girl.
Swab with rubbing alcohol to avoid wet charges. Damp, not wet, patch, down/ back, flip and repeat then a dry and reload. Takes longer to type than to do it.
Both my flintlock Renegades shoot right around an inch for 3 at 50 yards.
I shoot 70 grains of 3f Swiss and 200, 230 and 250 grain .45 cal Hornady XTPs in Harvester crush rib sabots. One Renegade shows a preference for the 200 grainers, the other the 250s and both like the 230s. All 3 are more than adequately accurate for hunting.
Good fortune to ya!
