The factory browning on my mountain rifle was slightly active yet. It looked a wee bit coarse, so I used some oil on 4 0 steel wool to GENTLY card it off.
Now my browned barrel has a noticeably blueish tint to it.
39 years ( at least) is a long time for a rust blueing job! No bother though. I like the looks of it.
Gonna shoot her tomorrow morning. Hopefully good things to report!
