Your favorite 45-70 loads?

Hi All,

I have recently acquired an 1874 C Sharps 30" bull barrel in 45-70. I managed to find a few brass, got powder and bullets and primers and waiting on the final reloading components.

I have 300 and 405 grain flat nose bullets and IMR4198 and Varget. I realize they may not be the best powders but they were available locally.

Anyone have any pet loads I could try out?

I got the reloading data from Hodgen online and I have my Lyman reloading book. I was just hoping for a closer starting point!

Is the remlin a Marlin lever 45-70? I have to use 45-70 loading for the 1873 Springfield.
Yours would blow me all up!
