Ma and I absconded to the cabin for 8 days and really had an enjoyable time. Its been dry here at home but in northern Minnesota its fire time only 60 miles from the cabin property and the whole area is under an extreme drought classification. Smoke was in the air just about every day we had a nw wind, but the fire has been contained fairly well and spread in our direction wasn't likely. The fall colors are starting but with no water for the leaves many trees are just brown or bare of any leaves. Those leaves the do color up are off the tree in a day, but we did find some nice views while out on rides.

I fished Lake Superior every morning and every afternoon from the breakwater in Two Harbors and came home with several Salmon and Lake Trout. Fine eating

Here are pics of some of our native company this trip. The bear cup was maybe 45 pounds and really enjoyed sunflower seeds.

The porcupine was just passing thru the yard and offered up a nice picture.

It was a great 8 days and I'm looking forward to the last week of this month when we go back for another 8-10 days.
