I have found that if you use a hot primer in cold weather ignition problems seem to go away. A Fed 209A or a CCI 209M work very consistantly in cold weather. The only misfire I had with 5744 was when I used a standard primer. The instant I switched to a hot primer it went bang.

I cant say I have ever had a misfire with 5744... N110 I have had several... only at the range tho.

I went to 10 below last winter with 5744 with only one problem. I was a 1/2 mile from the truck with a 178" whitetail! :D

has anyone using 5744 had a missfire in cold conditions 30 degrees and lower?

I've never had a misfire with 5744, and never is a long time.

My opinion, correctly priced at free, is that AA 5744 is the most reliable powder you can use in a Savage 10ML-II.

I hunted with AA 5744 this past December and took one shot on a Buck with no missfire. Temp was under 30 plus did some under 30 degree range shooting...same thing, no misfires. Usin win 209's.
