Hello, I'd like to shoot conicals because I am not a fan of sabots. My bore is .50 exactly from land to land, but .504 in the rifling grooves. What diameter conical would you shoot? 500, 501, 502, or 503? All in decimals of course.

504 grooves would be extremely uncommon.

Around .001-.002 larger than the lands works well for me.

Depends on powder and how many shots between wiping hunting or target ? If your shooting 777 it's cleaner than pyrodex or black. get a .499 sizer and start there and you can open the sizer up as needed. What kind of gun ?

It is a Traditions Buckstalker, I have .501 in my cart but haven't checked out because I am not sure

You could also buy a Sizing Pack from No Excuses which comes with a .500, .501, .502, .503 and .504 pure lead bullet so you can trial fit them in your bore. They're around $7.
