So I'm in a bit of a quandry I'm hopeful you more experienced frontstuffers can help me with. I've got a couple different inlines, and I'd like to get everything set up on one type of powder, BH209, and one type of ignition.
I've got 2 Encore 50 cals. They may be magnums, not that I really think it's a thing. They are both set up to use the 25 ACP cartridge cases, primed with small rifle primers.
I also have 2 old style Remington 700ML's. They've both been converted by Denny's Sporting Goods, in Hubburton, OH, to use 32 ACP brass, I think. I also bought a short action Remington 700 previously converted to smokeless front stuffing off Gunbroker. That particular rifle uses cut down 308 family brass. To round out my herd of Remmys, I just purchased a 700 Ultimate. Unlike all the others I've seen or heard of, this one is blued, and in the Bell and Carlson kevlar/fiberglass stock. The action wears the QPR dealio on the the receiver that I can read with a scanner app on my phone, so I think it is the latest and greatest, after their barrel issues were cleared.
And as if that wasn't enough, I've managed to purchase 2 unfired KRB7's, though they are not really part of my master plan.
So what I'd like to get input on is which ignition system would be the way to go. I've read about the ASG version in many posts here, and I've perused their website. I've also read about the HIS system, and his version of the ASG setup.
I think I'm leaning towards Hanks Precision version of the ASG. I don't think I want screw in primer holders, especially not since I've bought these various rifles for my nephews, and cousins to use while we all hunt together. I think young fingers, in cold weather, in an excited state, isn't the time to be threading in something in a tight space under a scope. However I've never personally used that setup, so if you have and care to share your opinion, please chime in.
