When working up loads, to which increments is it practical to go down to, 5gr., 2gr. ?

Also to maximize accuracy how long of a cool down period should one allow for. Realizing that this is dependant on the outside temperature, it might be hard to give it a definite minute range. Is it good enough to check the barrel to be hand warm ?

10 grain increments is pretty much the standard for blackpowder and bp substitutes. Barrel cool down really depends on the rifle, the temp, the loads you are shooting.
