I'm not sure when I'll get home again, maybe around the first of the year. I have a mould for IdahoLewis' I bullet which should be just the ticket. I'd like to find some Swiss powder. I have plenty of Goex so I may have to make due with that.
Don't knock the Goex. It's been doing the job, under different names, for over a hundred years. Use it, and it might just surprise you, especially with its softer fouling. Use a tight fitting, .54 caliber, thick, wool felt, over powder wad, and you just might be able to shoot consecutive shots without wiping the bore. The wad may push the softer Goex fouling down onto the powder charge, thus cleaning the grooves/lands enough to give you the ability to shoot without cleaning for a great number of shots.

How deep are the grooves? Are they the traditional 0.003"-0.004" deep grooves that most fast twist barrels have?

The grooves are .005" deep. As for Goex, I've been using it for 40 years and I'm sure it will be fine.
