I was hoping to get some info on shooting .50 x .40 sabots out of my Triumph. Any input on options would be appreciated.

My Renegade didn't like musket caps. Lots of misfires and crushed caps. #11 caps consistently fire with 2f Swiss. With Pyrodex I had some problems so it's nothing but black powder in the side lock.

I have used Pyrodex P in flintlocks with no issues. I keep some for a back up but generally shoot 2f Swiss. I think it cleans up better than Goex but both shoot well.

I killed several deer with 300 grain XTP Mags, Harvester Crush Ribs and 100 grains of Blackhorn. Accuracy was outstanding but the bullets passed through without much if any expansion. I never made a major bone hit, just ribs. No discernable blood trail on three different deer. I found them but...

My Triumph is getting loose. I already tried putting shims in the primer pocket.

I use a Boresnake every 2-3 rounds at he range and run a few soaked patches through before going home. If I'm hunting and reload after a shot I will pull the bullet and push out the load if I can't get to shoot it by the next day.

I shoot .530 round balls with a.020 patch and 85 grains volume of Pyro RS. The groups are about what you are getting with the 70 grain load of Pyro P. I would guess that since the P is a bit hotter we are getting about the same performance. Good luck with it. As for the patches I bought the .020...

I would like to get a CO 2 discharger but am having a hard time finding one. I checked online and so far no one has them in stock or the manufacturer says they are discontinued. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you guys for all the advice. I did the hot water cleaning and used an air hose to blow out the flash channel. I got Dynamit Nobel caps and now have ignition. Thanks again.

I have CCI multiple use Four Wing Caps. Patches are not burnt. The nipple is clean. I will try pipe cleaners.

I used a small hose to push hot water down the barrel and it blew out the flash channel. I used the air hose through the channel and got plenty of air flow at the muzzle. I ran several dry patches through the barrel. I backed out the nipple and fired a cap. It seems that all the blast from the...

I converted a .54 Renegade to use musket caps and now cannot get it to fire at all. The caps are going off but no ignition. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

I had fiber optic sights prior to the peep and left the red front sight on.

I think the red bead really helps in low light. Your eyes may be sharper than mine.

Get the peep and you'll amazed how well you can shoot! I put one on my Deerstalker a few years back and have never been sorry.
