    Building up a front sight?

I have the same issue with a luger p08. No room to file and front sight needs to be lengthened. I am thinking to grab an aftermarket one and use it. do you think jb weld will hold up?

    CVA Paramount Update

I just been using grease on the threads. No leakage there. Backing it out helps. I still get a tiny bit of blowby on some at the primer, on followup shots but its not effecting accuracy that I can tell. Its a very minor amount.

    CVA Paramount Update

Went to the range today with the Muzzleloader and an AR15 Bushmaster 450. The AR is a tac driver usually, but today was heavy wind Right to Left 25-30 with 45MPH gusts and it was lackluster. Broke out the Paramount and it shocked me how good it was. Pushing bullets about 2 inches left of point...

    CVA Paramount Update

I thought the tail piece was suppose to fall off as well but I think it's the tail piece cause I recovered the tip last night cleaning the meat to freeze. Yes we have Axis deer in Hawaii. Most were through shots like in the pic but that expanded one caught a shoulder on the way out so I was able...

    CVA Paramount Update

I was able to test hunting deer this past weekend with the Paramount. I'm using 140 grains volume BH209 and the ELR bullet. 209 primer not variflame. Paramount with the ELR bullet is a keeper.

    CVA Paramount Update

I'm using the 209 plug and 209 primers. The variflame is out. Way better and just as accurate. Plus simply throw away when done. It's a no brainer.

    CVA Paramount Update

ELR bullets push easy as does other powerbelt I have used. Agree sabots are harder pushing. I've been sticking with 100 grains by volume bh209 as I'm at 100 yards or less. That would probably be my hunting situation as well although longer shots could happen. I'd like to find a way to do some...

    CVA Paramount Update

It's a known issue. The replacement variflame primer installer they send will fix the issue. Also I have switched to the 209 primer breech plug and have over 100 shots through with no malfunctions and it's not leaking using federal 209 primers. That's another option that alleviates using the...

    CVA Paramount Update

I'm shooting 100 grains of bh209 with all kinds of bullets. ELR and another yellow powerbelt 225 grain and hornady sst sabots. At 100 yards I'm hitting some great groups with all. My barrel has to be a bit fouled though. With a clean barrel it shoots low and left. As soon as I get a shot or two...

    CVA Paramount Update

Finally got BH 209 powder. What a pleasure. Shot 7 shots in a row with no cleaning in between basically through the same hole at 50 yards. I arrived at the range at 330PM and they close at 4pm so all I could do. Less crud ring than triple 7 and I used the 209 shotgun primers. Everything worked...

    CVA Paramount Update

No change that I can see. They are consistent. I never had a misfire and they are still just as accurate. I wish it came with the 209 plug from the factory.

    CVA Paramount Update

I am using the 209 primers full time now. They still leak, but not even close to as bad as the variflame. I also ran into a problem with powder as I ran out of 777 and got a new bottle from a different store and different lot #. It was so inaccurate I was missing the target at 50 yards. I...

    Bad Powder?

how do you find them? I've never seen one after I shoot. How far do they typically go?

    Bad Powder?

Not exactly sure but one ends in 16 and the jug has a handle. The one ending in 19 doesn't have a handle. Here is a pic after I got it re dialed in. I honestly thought my gun was screwed up but thankful it was a powder issue and not more serious. I am thinking the new powder may be to hot and is...

    Bad Powder?

I have been shooting a new muzzleloader a CVA Paramount. I have been using triple 7(I have on order blackhorn 209 but not here yet). Also shooting Hornady SST 40 cal sabots and they have been dead accurate at 100 yards with 100 grains. I ran out and bought the same powder at a different store...

    CVA Paramount Update

I'm glad your experience is good with the powerbelt ELR. I bought an extra pack, but have yet to even try one with the powder I have, I want to wait to get that blackhorn, plus these are a bit cheaper and they shoot really accurate at 100 yards at least.

    CVA Paramount Update

Went to the range today using the new 209 plug. Well it still leaks, however now I have skipped the adding rifle primers to a variflame adapter and having to clean them and only use 10 at a time, so way better in my book. Same issues, some primers leak and others don't. All went off and there...
