1st generation Pro Hunter

Wondering what the difference is between the 1st generation Pro Hunter & the new Pro Hunter XT's. TIA. Looks like the new breech plug is the only meaningful difference.

I believe the first generation Encore requires a 4473 (FFL) because of it being able to change out barrels to center fire cartridges and the FX is a fixed action that is not interchangeable. Someone can correct me on this though.

I believe you're correct. The FX is a fixed barrel and not interchangeable.
