Academy Sports in Greenville, NC has had Winchester Triple Se7en 209 primers the last few times I have gone there (within the last two weeks). I wish I could find some #11 percussion caps or even some musket caps; online or in the NC/SC area…Anybody finding any on the shelf anywhere?
Thank you, deermanok! I just placed an order for some #11s, musket caps, and some black powder. Let’s hope it ships!Graf and sons has RWS # 11 caps and Shuetzen musket caps in stock. No 209's.
Pardon my ignorance but when people say 209 primers are they talking about regular shotshell 209's or the ones in undeadpoets post the SML209T7 ?? What is the difference other than being "specially formulated" for triple seven and does it make that much difference ? Also, can you substitute these with something like the Variflame adapters ?
My lone muzzleloader experience is my paramount pro but I have a bunch of people asking me about 209's and I'm not really sure what they need. I used to compete in shotgun sports and would buy 209's by the 100K at a time and I have about 60K laying around.
How many 209's do you need and where do you liveI pretty much gave up looking for any.

I have found a few Winchester #11’s at Cal-Ranch. I bought a couple of tins last time I was in there. I didn’t want to wipe them out, but maybe I should have. Never used them before. I’ve always used the CCI or RWS caps.Academy Sports in Greenville, NC has had Winchester Triple Se7en 209 primers the last few times I have gone there (within the last two weeks).
