Wow those FPJs look almost like they came out of the box! I would think you can reuse those several times. They look even better then I expected. What primer are you tying in it. Depending on the 209 it might increase your velocity due to the small bore size.

I had trouble loading powder at first too, just like you on my first range trip and wound up using a piece of target to make a small funnel . I got a small plastic funnel through Amazon and the spout fits in the bore. I then got a new measure that Squeeze recommended and it works great for the small calibers and has a funnel on top. Its is made for revolvers so works great for the small bores.

I think this is the funnels I got.

What size Balls do you have, and what are you lubing the patches or Ticking with? Do you have a caliper to measure the patches or ticking?

As for the noise.. Yup they are very quiet. 8) Even out in the woods it is just a pop, a 22lr has more of a sharp crack to them.

The Wind will bother that little ball more out at 50 than one of the large calibers. Scope problems can really drive you crazy too.

But you got a good first start and I bet it was pretty fun too. :yeah: I really love shooting these small calibers. :D

Balls are Hornady .310, lube was TC bore butter. Primers were mostly remington clean bores but I think a couple T7s found their way in there.

I have a caliper at work I'll need to remember to bring home. I was concerned 310's would be too loose. In hindsight I don't know if I could have even shot today if I had 315s.

Equally pressing issue is what to do about the scope. Playing around with the idea of a fixed 3x.

I thought those FPJ might come out like that. Sweet...about zippo blowback :yeah:

I'm sure you will get it worked out...glad you got to knock the new off her :D

Wow, I'm a bit surprised that the .310s are that tight. I would have though that Oregon would have a closer tolerance. I take it you had a short starter and not starting them by thumb pressure? I have a couple boxes of the .310s I think and was just going to melt them down as they are too loose in mine. I never have used Bore butter so can't comment there. I have used Hoppies #9 plus for lube since I started shooting RB long time ago.

As for a scope, if you want a cheap scope I just got a couple Weavers that I think might be on close out from Natchez. I got a 3x9x40 and a 2x7x33 both are MZ/shotgun scopes so parallax is set at 50 yards. I used the 3x9 on my .36 cal and was pretty impressed at how clear it was. They just dropped the price another $10 from the $99 I paid, but the 2x7 is still $69. Both are very clear, Eye relief is a little short for me on thumper cals, but work just fine on the small rifles so far. I figured that at that price they would work fine on the small calibers. The Reticles are neat but they are slightly different, The 3x9 has a couple dots and the 2x7 has a couple lines/dashes.

You got me to hankering to shoot mine again so I went out today. :D I will post up something in a new thread and not hijack yours.
