45 Cal BBl for Lyman Deerstalker

I'm seriously thinking of having a 45 cal bbl with a 1-20" twist and shallow grove bbl to mimic my 451 White bbls for my Flintlock Lyman Deerstalker. I know Grouse has already done it and he loves it. My question is should I stick with the 24"bbl or add another 2 or 4 inches? Any thoughts or comments appreciated. If I proceed with this, I'll be sending my Deerstalker to Howard Kelly who now makes Doc's bbls for him.

I would go with 26 or even 27. But thats just me
