I figured I would start a new topic. Here’s a new project piece that I lucked into. Gunsmith special. Complete but in the white, ready for final finish. It’s a H&A action and stock with a 62 cal octagon to round barrel. Custom hood front sight and a Johnson peep rear sight. Barrel is 29 inch. Time to start polishing the barrel. Going to brown it like the other 2 that I have. I may order new wood from Pecatonica long rifle.

Do you have a nipple just for musket caps ,,or do you use the #10 nipple,, reason I ask is I have 5000 of the rws I'd like to use.

Is it a smoothbore? Yikes a .62 cal might have a little too much backup for this old man. I own 4 H&A switch bbl UHs and am presently working on a Maple stocked one with a heavy false muzzle 50 cal bore. This will be my "bench" gun. My orig 45 cal has 5 antelope to it's credit. I know I'm being redundant, a privilege of old age. (Stock Russian Olive by me.) Can't locate my buck pics right now, damned picasa anyway LOL

Trader- Awesome rifle! The Olive wood is beautiful. The 62 is a rifle. I do have a smooth bore 12 ga. A gunsmith friend of mine built 2 under hammers for me, a 12ga and a fast twist 50cal . He showed me the 62 one time and told me that he built it 20 plus years ago to shoot in competitions. He never finished it out, even had a taped on rear sight. Anyhow, I got to thinking... It sure would be nice to have a 3 gun set that he had made. I spoke to him about it and he agreed to sell the 62. He told me that he used to shoot 60-80 grains of powder for target work. We will see. I will advise my dentist prior to shooting, just in case my fillings get loosened a bit. :)

Me too, just give them a light pinch and slide them on. Never had one fall off (yet). Found one of my buck pictures, 2017. Under hammers left or right hand friendly, period correct, what's not to like ??
