Hi All
Once saw a TC Hawken from the custom shop. It was iron mounted and blued, including the lock.
The lock looked SO fine and got me thinking about bluing the lock on my Pennsylvania Hunter. Now I'm not sure if TC's color casing is real or torch and oil as some do. Bluing over case hardening, colored or not, usually gives you a purple part. I've seen purple Krags and some purple Ruger 77's. Those aren't cased, just really HARD steel.
So, I'd like to polish the lock up, removing the thoughtfully left casting pits, and blue it.
Anyone ever tried this? How'd it work for you?
Thanks!
