boot mink oil

I was watching a video yesterday and saw a shooter luring his patch with red wing boot mink oil. Since I'm new to bp and I have a lot of mink oil boot preservative I was wondering if that would work, right now I'm using bb. I'm just looking for input

There's about 10 million recipes for patch lube, Lol
A lot of shooters use mink oil but they usually cut it with something.
I haven't tried it myself. I use Crisco for a lube.

Mink oil boot dressing is great patch lube. So is original Go Jo hand cleaner (without grit).

Yes use it.
I use it the red wing mink oil to with no problems.

I picked up some sizing lube at an estate sale, and when I opened it, I recognized the smell of mink oil. Works for resizing brass just fine.

I have never owned a mink, and if I did own one, I have no idea why I would want to oil it. Sheesh, next it could be cat or dog oiling. Where does this stop?

I understand completely. If you oil a mink you'd probably never be able to catch and hold on to it.

Have you had any issues using crisco? I have a steel flaring tool for flaring 1” copper water line and I use crisco on it to lube it since it’s food grade. Can’t use oil. If I don’t wipe the crisco off it will rust that tool badly. Not sure why.

I haven't had any problems using it so far.
I clean my guns thoroughly after a range session of course.

And here i thought a mink boot was something my wife would wear when her feet were cold, and why would she oil them? She wont oil the car or the good kitchen knives or even the cast iron pans… but those mink boots…
