I am playing around with 300 gr XTPs with the black CR sabot. I just picked up a box of the 300 gr XTP mags.

Is the black CR sabot good for the mag bullets too???

What exactly is the difference between the mags and the regular XTPs. And are they likely to shoot differently??

As well, what is best place to order sabots from. It's tough to get them separately in Canada.

Check with PR Bullets. They are located in Manitoba.

Their sabots are MMPs

You can check with Harvester. I dont know if they ship to Canada or not.

XTP mags are a little tougher than a regular XTP. I think the 300gr XTP has two cannelures and the 300gr XTP mag has one. The hollow points are different too. It might also have a thicker jacket. I know the 240gr XTP mag has a thicker jacket than the 250gr XTP.

I shoot both bullets out of Crushed Rib sabots and they seem to work fine. A lot depends on the rifle your shooting and what the bore of that rifle likes.
