Bullet sizing

I am sizing my 300 gr SST bullets for my Moutaineer and I want them to be precise so I would run thru the adjustable sizer twice and check for fit. Just turning a little at a time. At .452" it was a no go. I couldn't get the started until I got to .4515" and then it had to be perfectly aligned. These shoot the best so far.

I have a Lee in the .4515, most of the time if its a thicker jacket i have to run it trough 3 times.

Ues they usually have a bit of elasticity and bounce back after the first pass. Encore50 put me on to this I think. With the SSTs 2 passes work.

I remember when Idlewis experimented with shooting the xtp bullet sized for his TC 1-48's. I think they shot pretty darned good if my memory serves.

I find the Lee sizer with thinner jacket bullets works well. If you are using thick jacket bullets n copper then a good adjustable like the oneJeff Hankin's makes is a good one.

SwingLock or Hankins are the two choices I believe. I have a couple Hankins. They work great and are about $15 cheaper (for the kit).

I've used a Hankins with a Lee hand press for a few seasons now. It's worked really well.

The don’t. Just Hankins and Swinglock, afaik.

No, not that I’m aware of. The only 2 makers of adj bullet sizing dies are Hankins & Tom at Swinglock.
