Nice kill and bull! Congrats.

What load and where did you hit him, if you don’t mind.

Care to tell us about your bullet and load and how they preformed?

I was using a 460 grain No Excuses Bullet (.503”) over 70 grains of BH209. Accuracy was outstanding but if I had to do it over, I would increase the powder charge. I shot the bull at 80 yards and had little to no expansion with a through and through double lung shot behind the shoulder. The first shot was lethal but I had time for two insurance shots before it hit the ground. I was lucky he didn’t run, he could’ve made it a long way. I feel like a little more velocity would’ve helped the expansion. In hindsight the powder charge really does seem light.

Well, I thought I was the first person to shoot this bull but found a few “extras” when processing the meat. Along with the remains of my 460gr NE bullet, we found a lead pellet and 4 steel BBs under the skin! Must’ve been raking some trees in someone’s back yard…IMG_2683.jpeg
