ok i just bought a nikon prostaff..3x9x40 in matte finish..now recs on rings and mounts.

Durasite offers some cheap all steel quick release ring and base sets. For the money its hard to beat them. They wont fit other rings of bases though so i switched to Warnes steels bases. They even offer a silver finish if you have a SS gun. I like Warnes rings too but the Burris rings with the "liners" are really nice too.

Just throwing it out there as an option. This is my Elite in a set of Leupold medium rings and bases with a Bushnell 3200 Elite 4-12x40 DOA 600. There is clearance between the bell and barrel, just hard to see in the picture. Your bell will be a smaller diameter so there will be no issue with clearance using any medium rings.
