Was given a new bottle of Black-Solve by a friend who is not shooting BP anymore. Marketed by Dixie Gun Works. It's 4oz of concentrate that you mix with 28oz of water. It's supposed to be good for cleaning bores, nipples, breechplugs, etc. He's never used this brand so he has no idea how good or bad it is. Anyone have any experience with it? Any rust preventives in it?

There is no rust preventative in it. But it will pull normal fouling out of the barrel. I know a person that used to swab with it. It seemed to work fine. But after the rifle is clean, I'd still apply a good coat of oil.
