I'd probably break both wrists, and knock myself out if I shot it with a real load in it.

The good thing is i'd wake up from a coma not remembering what happened.
 
I think this is the only 4 bore pistol ever made ....so you're right Bob

Pete I saw a clip on you-tube where a guy fired a 577 or 600 NE pistol and that thing nearly took him out !
 
Magna-port it. That will reduce the recoil to the point of unconsciousness rather than death. :suspect: 
 
The powder spills out when you load.  :D 

Actually, it does work. Traditions uses it on the Vortek, and it helps.

I always had it done on my trap shooting guns.
 
With a muzzleloader and black powder I suppose we need every ounce of oomph the powder can supply so better to not port it.
 
We have no limit to how much powder we pour down the barrel.  ;) 

Cartridges have limits.
 
Wonder how much of an overload a muzzlegun will handle before it will let go , that's if you're using black powder ?
 
Standard "proofing" procedure seems to be twice the normal hot load. I'd let some drunk do it for me.  :twisted:
