With so much cold and especially all the snow I spent the last couple of days making some "Hickory Corn Cob Strikers".  I put a coat of Spar Varnish on them which is about dry.  Going to work on the tips next.  I love using corn cob handles, they are super lite and surprisingly super tough.

Those are simply awesome 'Joe :!:
There's a lot of satisfaction using a game call you've made(I've only ever made fox calls).  Very interesting post.   These will be scratched on slate :?:

I like hickory for use on slate pot calls and of course with corn cob handles.  Corn cobs are very easy to work with, very light and the textured surface makes them easy to grab with gloves on.

Having a Tom in front of you is no time to find you can no longer use a Diaphragm Call after having your Teeth out. LOL

Got several Pot Calls and Strikers even one made out of Osage Orange but none with Corn Cobs. They look good.
