Well I think it was worth the wait, got my 700ml back this week from McGowen. Its a 700ml with McGowen #5 contour with a modified 5in shank at 1.20in. I wanted to build something lighter and shorter for the woods and my son to shoot. The plan right now is to just shoot sabots with either fury 225 or 250gr which ever it likes to shoot better with n110 for my son and maybe h4198 or n120. Specs are 20in barrel with hunter crown, 700ml action cerakoted in tungsten, bergara ridge stock, old brownells bottom metal. Can't wait for the weekend to start barrel break in. Could be that its the newest toy, but I think this one turned out better than the last one I got back from them, now if it can just shoot as well.

That's a great looking woods gun. Maybe wear ear plugs.

Yes, you have to send them your breech plug with the action. This one came back perfect, whoever did my first one smashed and dented my bolt nose, it took some cussing and playing with a file to straighten it out after talking to Luke. I still might break down and buy a new nose from him but you have to contact him its a special order not listed on his site. A buddy built one using Arrowheads LRMP system and modules.

Nice set up. I hope you enjoy the heck out of it. I’ve just started getting into using the Fury .402 225g ST2P bullets myself. (In LBCR’s - of course) N110 charges. 2500-2600fps is sweet with them & recoil is no prob.

Stubby went to the range today. I had some Parker 275 BE I wanted to shoot bullet to bore just of s&s’s. Using 57gr n120 (recoil was stout). They were impressive.

Then I tried 225gr fury’s knurled in a HCRLB sabot and n110 3 shots to finish the day. I wasn’t patient with waiting between shots but the last 2 were at the 11 and 1 position. Not one hole but I don’t think the deer will mind. 15 total shots down barrel so far.

All 3 targets were shot at 100 yards off a Bullbag. once Corn is cut I can stretch it out more. The Parkers were cold/clean bore and follow up shot. Might tinker with the charge weight a little. Still have some 250gr 40 star tips to try. But from reading other threads I think I need to change to n120 for the heavier bullet.
