Shot a few 250gr Shockwaves yesterday. First two at 100yds were touching, and the third was an inch to the left. Moved over to the 200yd target and dropped 3 into a 3" group that hovered around the bullseye.
Just for the heck of it I loaded a 290gr TMZ with the same charge (120gr BH). I expected the 290 to impact low at 200yds but it didn't. Bullet drop was dead on but the bullet hit several inches to the left.

Our illustrious Michigan DNR has made changes this fall due to Covid19.

Not sure why but the ML seems to have been shorten AND we can use any legal firearm firearm which makes no sense.

However, I can use my .450 Bushmaster during our ML which is the 2nd most accurate rifle I have at 100 yards.

To many antler hungry hunters. Not enough does being taken. EHD, bTB and who knows what else.
The MI DNR never has had the sharpest tacks running things. Perfect example of worthlessness............. Russ Mason.

Close enough....... LOL

You COULD use that 450bm. Or you could use the ML all the time. I love hunting with a ML. Nice shooting.

As long as you are using one of your White's Dean! :D My early ML season which opens the 17th. I'm hoping to harvest a doe with my 45 cal TC Renegade. I'm dying to get one with that ML. Once I do, it's back to my 451 White.

I was looking thru my target practice 2017 before I switched to BH209 and bought the Optima V2. It wasn't pretty. This was at 50 yards. Now for the latest side by side comparison. That is better.

All ready for Virginia's opening day. Most of my shots are well within 100 yards. Only taken a few past that.

The orange target is from a scoped MK-85 at 100 yards in a stiff crosswind.

This one is 50 yards from a peep sighted LK-93. Still working on finding a better load, but it will work.

The 2 targets on the left are from m Accura PR and the 2 on the right are from my dads Accura MR. All at 100 yds. The single target is the PR at 200 yds with 100 gr of BH and 250 gr. tipped barnes in crushed sabot.

Once you find a good one it hard to give it up. I admit I stuck with the same ML way too long. Eradit shooting was a mystery but now it is solved. I should have joined this forum a long time ago.

My thoughts as well. Drives me nuts how our dumb DNR made this change.

Since ML season starts a week from Saturday I wanted to confirm my CVA Optima V2 LR was still accurate from last winter.

I was looking for a 1.3" high group for the 50 yard which would put the bullets at zero in the 125 yards range. I shoot 9 times without cleaning. There was no blow by powder in and around the breech plug.

1st group (left photo) of five had me chasing a bit. Oh well! Initially the wind was about 10 mph from my left so I adjusted and later the wind slowed.

here the results of the last four shots.

This ML will get the job done.

Ok fellow members,

I said I would follow up with a 100 yards grouping to confirm if these 50 yards groups were represented at longer range.

I did that today the day before season. My only attempts at 100 yards with a ML before this were warnings not to shot at 100 yards. The V2 LR Optima has changed that coupled with the power and bullet listed.
The ballistics program indicate at 100 yards with this setup the POI should be at 1.3" high of bulleyes center. The central spot for this group is near 1.3" so I like it. I will try later on when time allows to tighten the group because there was some wind today and I have an ideal on how I can.
Each square on the target in 0.5x0.5".
