All ready for Virginia's opening day. Most of my shots are well within 100 yards. Only taken a few past that.

The orange target is from a scoped MK-85 at 100 yards in a stiff crosswind.

This one is 50 yards from a peep sighted LK-93. Still working on finding a better load, but it will work.

I’m also ready for opening day VA muzzleloader :)

Got back from range today, looks like 1” groups will be my best for now at 50 yards using 110 gr BH209, Crush Rib sabots and 300 gr .44 XTPs.

Stopped by the range after work - before dark.
Haven’t shot the GM 54-120 since the spring match.
550gr HP over 50grW BH209, 4x scope.
1st shot 100yds was 2”high, clean bore??, came down 2moa, X and last was just above X.
I think I’m good, have no plans to shoot this fun little gun past 100.

Felt sorry for a modern CF shooter, he was all over the place - I finally tried to help him by spotting and let him shoot at my big target bulls, he was all over the place... to say he was experimenting is an understatement. Lol

That's good enough for taking whitetails!

I hunt in central NC where my shots on deer on average are between 45 & 100 yards. Not because of my choice just the hunting terrain that I hunt. I am not to concerned with groups as I hunt with a clean barrel and I want that first shot to be as accurate as I can shoot. This is a buck I was able to take Tuesday evening at about 87 yards across a power line which is a long shot for the area. Good luck to all and stay safe during these horrible C-19 times.

This is one of my sons who I called when I was fortunate enough to get this nice buck.

Congrats on your fine ML marksmanship and prize buck. Nice looking buck and ML!
I have short and long range shooting options because my land consists of mixed woods and open pasture. I have taken deer up to 370 yards with 270 Winchester cal rifle.

I wish my .45 Accura LR shot that well. I sent it back to the factory, and I think they put a new barrel on it, although they didn't say so. It shoots better, but that means 3 shots in 2" or so at 100 yards.
Yeah, I haven’t found anything that shoots MOA out of mine. Very disappointed in it. I won’t buy another, that’s for certain.

I have been shooting 200grn SST and 200grn XTPs in light blue CR sabots with 80grV bh209, Win 209A primers at 100 yesterday off of a sandbag and shouldering the rear. Im pretty happy so far.

That is fine shooting. I have also good results with 200gr SST style and 240 gr and 250 gr XTP style bullets but I like the 250 gr SST best right now.
I think you will agree the 200gr SST is your best grouping or the one on the left.

My Knight Mountaineer 45 / 1-20 cuts the same holes at 200 yards using 85gr (weighed) BH209, a smooth blue Harvester sabot, & .400/240gr Fury hollow points.
Zeroed at 200, 2 1/2” high at 100, 2” high at 50
Groups really tightened using Jeff Fisk’s 50/50 Hoppes & 91% ISO alcohol between shots

I think your 2 1/2 “ is a typo, with that load more like 3 1/2. My knight de 1-30, ceb .40, 240 maximus, hlb, 92gr/W BH 209, MV 2386 fps. I’ve been shooting this load zeroed at 200 for 5 years now. 100yd 3 1/4” high, 200 zero, 300yd 13 1/2” low

Sad to say my Utah elk season ended Thursday. Busted our butts, 8 of 9 days getting into the elk several times/day with no joy; spike season. First outing with one of Levi Reed's 45 cal bore riding conversions shooting a Parker Black Max 300 gr over 122 gr, by weight, of BH209 and Fed 215 mag primer (Arrowhead breech plug) running 2560 fps. 200 yd zero with 3 shots gave me confidence but then I stopped at the North Springs range, South of Price, Utah to check my 600 yd impacts and came up with these which really boosted my confidence. Before leaving the mountains, and to empty the rifle, I nailed a 2 moa rock @ 550 yds in a 8 mph full value wind. The rifle is now torn down, cleaned and i'm mulling over how to put the rifle on a diet. 13+ lbs was a lot of luggage to tote around the 9,000' Utah mountains.

Just shot the Gun last week & measured all groups. 2 1/2” was not a guess just FYI
