Anyone ever used one of the old H&R Huntsman rifles? I’ve got one in 58 caliber that’s a hoot to shoot. You can see where someone used a file or dremel to make sure the ignition source is “exposed”. Given how close I live to Idaho, it was probably so it could be used there. The #11 cap ignition works but I’m going to convert it to 209 just to see if I like it better. We’ll see. I haven’t hunted with it, but I’ll get around to it eventually!

The only advice I can give is if it’s a slip in breech plug be careful if you have a missfire.Make sure you hold it pointed away from yourself when you recap

It is indeed & I’m very mindful of it. I hope others read your comment & remember it. It also applies to the Shortlane arms 209 shotgun adapter.
