Magnum caps ok??

So. Are magnum #11 caps ok to use with pyrodex ff or 777ff in a 50 cal. Hawken? Having a hard time locating standard caps.

Magnum caps are probably the better choice for the types of powders you're using.

I've never used a standard cap. Magnums have worked fine for me.

I've had some hangfires with 777 and regular #11's in cold weather. Winchester magnum caps are the best I've found. CCI's don't seem to be quite as hot. I haven't seen the Winchesters on the shelves in several years. I think I'm down to my last tin. Hangfires test your hold. A bit like shooting a flintlock I suppose.

I had a hangfire yesterday while shooting a .45 Hawken with 777. Other couple of dozen shots were find. Using CCI #11 caps.

I have been searching for #11 caps all over the south as I travel state to state. Saturday Walmart distribution released cases of Standard #11 caps at super low prices. Might want to check your local stores while the last.

Every malwart round here has pyrodex, t7 pellets, and cci #11 caps now. Stock up on those 11’s thats a pretty good price. I was talking to my local malwart sporting goods guy, he said they have muzzleloaders, just cant find the display rack so they may just hang pictures of the guns and we’ll have to ask to see them. I asked if i could request(order) more bottles of bh209? He said hell check with his manager and let me know.
