Brand new Pietta 1858 New Model Army with only 20 shots. The 20th shot broke the latch for the loading lever on the bottom of the barrel. I just got it a few weeks ago. I'm a little ticked, but a whole lot disappointed.

Now I gotta figure out what to do to get it fixed. ☹️

Update: I finally got in touch with Cabellas where I got it from. He said this was the 2nd report of the same issue this week. They just had one come in on a truck and it now has my name on it.

After some research I found this is a common issue with this particular revolver. I even found a few posts in this group (only found them through Google Search).

They are doing me right with an even exchange. But if the next one does the same I may just go the route of installing a latch pin from a Uberti.

Overall I love the gun! But you would think they would have already fixed this design flaw

I did a little research and found it's a fairly common issue with them. The one they swapped has about 100 shots through it. The 1st 50 were real heavy loads to see if it would break. No issues so far!
