My passion has always been bowhunting deer but I hunt during the shotgun season as well(IL). Last December I picked up my first muzzleloader - a T/C Omega, camo thumbhole stock with stainless barrel. It sat in its box for about 4 months while I tried to learn as much as I could from this forum and others on what initially appeared to be a somewhat intimidating and confusing learning process.
Here is where I'm at now with my setup and load:
Bushnell 3200 3x9 scope with Warne base and QR rings
Triple 7 ff powder - 100 gr
Triple 7 primers
TC Superglide Shockwaves - 250
I cannot believe the accuracy I get out of this weapon at 100yds. It is such fun to shoot. My rifled shotgun cannot come close and will be left in its cabinet from now.
I know I have much to learn but this forum has helped me get a quick start and some early success and enjoyment of my newfound second passion. Thank you to everyone on this forum who so freely share their knowledge and expertise.
