Results and load data I gathered from talking to the winners.
A couple of things I learned from talking to everyone.
1) What a T/C system 1 was - if anyone has pictures please start another post and share. Chad shot the Encore in 2000 (new) as directed by T/C.
2) Knight had 2 teams after year 1, which was comprised of primarily Knight staff.
Used Bighorns 1998, 1999 & 2000 using 90gr 2f & 250gr Barnes/ sabots.
Both Teams shot 45 DISC in 2001 & 45 DE from then on, changing to 1:18 in 2004.
Team#1 - 2001 shot 300gr PR bullets over 120gr 2f Swiss.
2002 - 1/2 the team started shooting 305 & 350gr Conicals over 45-65gr T7.
2003 and after - all conicals
Team#2 - 2001 used a 175 solid copper sabot with the exception of one shooter who shot a 50 (they said well) using a Barnes deep big HP in a sabot. They didn’t have luck with PR.
- 2003 started using conical’s, playing with bullets/loads.
- They were unsure of the twist rate in the early 45s except HP Gregory, who just knew it was factory and slow (1:30 he agreed).
3) White intered in/out over the years, M. Crane gave me the load/Rifle details. He is a great Flint shooter and Shuetzen champ as well, that’s where the .36 cal came from as Doc asked him what he thought it would take to win. He knew Knight had been shooting the 45 conicals well, so at the 150yd max distance, he thought there shuetzen loads would also do well.
- White team shot the White System.410 in 2005 (M. Cranes team 1st year).
- I learned they all were all using one of my PT lined nipple! Ha
4) many agreed the rifles had gotten away from basic - not a bad thing in a way as far as development.
5) Hodgdon was a big supporter in this match.
