Some states, seems like mostly in the northwest, have some very restrictive requirements for hunting with a muzzleloader. I hunt Idaho, so my eyes start to glaze over when I read about sabots, jacketed bullets, 209 primers, pellets, and scopes. On the other hand, I'm not a traditionalist, per se. Not into the sidelock-scene, with brass buttplates and coon-skin hats. I just want to put a big hunk of lead through a large quadruped now and then.

I can understand that. I have a T/C Black Diamond XR (extended range) .50 caliber that is a very good big lead shooter. It shoots a 460 grain all lead conical with accuracy and authority. That would be my NW gun as it also uses #11 caps in its open breech.

I think I would have to go shopping if I had a hunt out that way. All my M-Ls are setup for jacket-less 209 primers. Not any concern now since I normally hunt MI, WI, or IL.
