Haven't been active on any forums for a while and rediscovered this one looking for answers to a specific question. Found so much new, updated, need to know information I've been reading here every day. The amount of experience and detailed knowledge available is a real treasure.

Started hunting with rimfires and bows in the 1960's. Built my first ML from a DGW CVA kit in the early 70's. Shot my first inline a decade ago and enjoy all types of MLs. Over time I've become mainly a hog and predator hunter in two state WMAs, one of which is only minutes from my home.

Thanks to all who make this such a great forum.

In AL, hunters 65 and older aren't required to buy a hunting license, just carry ID with proof of age. But hunting regulations are changed religiously every year, often for no obvious reason, so I don't know how long this will last.

In my state you can get a permanent license at 65. Get turkey, deer, bear, small game, bow and trapping for 50$. One time payyment!. I hear it is now 66 yrs old and 60$. Good deal.

Welcome back. I don think you want to come here though...Here in southwester NY state the license fees are raised every year with additional fees for turkey, duck, bow, doe tag, and muzzeloading and the socialist electorate do not like guns of any kind. All are registered. As a land owner of a farm I have to pay NY to hunt on my own land too.
