PRB in .45 Cal Optima

I'm a longrifle shooter who just purchased a .45 Cal CVA Optima and I want to plink with it using patched round ball. I have been read that you need to downsize loads for PRB in the short barreled in-lines. Can someone who has done it, give me a good starting point on powder used and the charge - you're results too, if you have them. thanks.

I have not done it in a 45cal I have don't in 50cal. I have done it with 55grs of pyrodex rs, 5shot 1.5in group at 50yrds. wish I had an target to shot ya, but when I shot the fiance that I had it hung on, it ripped it in half. :lol:
