Was pondering what to do about my Renegade with the uneven bore. I really want this spark chucker to work out.
.018 patches she did not like. .015s better, but she was tough to ram consistently.
On a lark, I thought .010? Shouldn't work. Too thin and will most likely cut/ blow worse than the .015s.
NOPE! I mean several did, but the majority were in fine shape, loaded well enough so I could just kiss the powder when ramming. She likes that.
3 shot 50 yard groups were 1 5/16, 1 1/2 and 1 5/8ths. Group overlap was quite good. For the 2nd group, I used a sabot base and it gave a slightly lower point of impact.
Today was my best flintlock day, to date.
Bore issues aside, I'm grateful to be well on my way to breaking my flintlock jinx.
I'm feeling much better about December now!
The load was a Hornady .490 ball, 70 gr 3f Swiss, Ox Yoke .010 patch lubed with Bore Butter. Swab between shots with a Bore Butter patch.
Life is gooood...
