Reddot vs. Reflex - difference?

Are there any technical differences, reflex 'appears' to block out less of your site picture.

looking at installing one on my short barreled Rem 870 Express - trifocals and open sites aren't compatible!

I'm assuming this is either a saddle mount or cantalever - Yes?

I have a red dot on my 870. I had it drilled and tapped for a weaver rail, the saddle mount was digging into my hand with the recoil. I first hated the red dot when I looked through it in the house, dot seemed blurry. When I went outside though, WOW, it was perfect! I have killed 2 birds with it so far. Dot on the head and pull the trigger. :lol:
