Ruger 77 build

Thinking about picking up a 77/50 and swapping the barrel from a Ruger #1 45-70 - has anyone done this or know any issues with this? Want to get rid of the barrel band as well / any insight is appreciated. Thanks!

Barrel wall thickness would be my concern and does the bolt conversion work with a rear sealing breechplug.
