Folks, help me out here – both boxes are hornady XTP 45 Cal,. 452, 300 grain same item number yet the two bullets are different in their cannelures and length. Anybody know what’s going on here?

We went thru this discussion a couple years back. Hornday confirmed the new bullet has one cannelure. Bullets are the same length, one bullet box is taller.

I have some of these a member on here sent me about a year ago. Some have the single cannlure and some have double cannulure. What sabot would be good for these or can they be shot bullet to bore.Mine are 250 grain instead of the 300 grain.I would like to shoot them from my .50 cal cva optima.

If the diameter is .451/.451 both Harvester Muzzleloading and MMP have sabots that will work for them. They would not work bullet to bore in an Optima.
