Has anyone loaded the tk2000 the traditonal way without a plastic wad and if so how did it pattern. Right now I get good patterns with 2oz of #5 shot and 90gr of 777 but am going to try some other things this spring with it to see if I can tighten the pattern to tighten up.

I always load my TK2000 with a shot wad. In my New Englander though I shoot without the shot wad. Its a 25 yard to 30 yard gun at best. But I get a bigger pattern that helps with grouse hunting.

With the back-bored (expansion chamber) barrel, and jug-choke, I think it was designed to use a wad. No, I have never shot without a wad in mine. Give Knight a call, and see what they say.

I was thinking of calling them but figured I would ask here first. I know some old ml shotguns were jug choked and they didnt have plastic wads then so thats why I was thinking of trying it.
