YES the firing pin hit the primer. It looked like any other primer I have shot. After talking to my buddy he says he heard a slight "fizzle" when he pulled the trigger.
The weather was around 25 degrees, snowing and windy for a good part of the day, but not really brutal conditions. His Omega was new for this season with about 12-15 shots at the range and completely cleaned after the range session.
