Out shooting today and ran some 250 gr Parker's across my chronograph
average for 3 shots was 2612 f.p.s
I was using 143.5 gr Blackhorn 209/v and a fiber wad
Is this velocity about where it's supposed to be?
That is just a might slower than my 6.5 Creedmoor
What do you think the max PBR would be, for hunting?
no sure what you all think of the CVA-ELR, ( you know the ones with the sabot attached to the bottom) bullets but those where and have been very accurate
Not sure if I like all the plastic and unsure how they would do on whitetail, anyone have experience with them for hunting? The only review I have heard are form the CVA rep's and not sure if I can trust their opinions since they are pushing them in the beginning

I couldn’t tell you on a .40, but looking at my notes, with 115 grW BH209 in a .50 with a 300 gr bullet gives me about 2230 fps.

So that could be about right with a .40 250 gr bullet. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A 10oz bottle doesn't last long with those loads!!!!
I know that all too well bud. I started out using 105gr W Bh 209 & shot as much as 119gr W BH 209 charges, but I do not recommend doing it. Its too much powder to burn completely or efficiently, resulting in MV per gr falling significantly, & an expensive waste of powder.
A 10oz bottle would be gone in no time.
