Want to fire my stuff!!!

I am ready to finally fire my stuff and I was wondering if anyone would walk me through 1st time firing 2 inlines and a pistol. The barrel is pitted but not rusty, I have never worked on this or weapon so if someone wouldn't mind telling me what I should do, Please???
Should I oil them and then dri fire it with caps?

Welcome from Kentucky I had to bite the bullet, find a good place out of the way, where it was legal for me to shoot with permission. Just remember basic gun safety, if your familiar with rifles and pistols where ramrod sits on a load as well as an empty chamber one will do alright nothing beats that memory of the first trigger pull on my Buckhorn Magnum watching a gallon of water explode.
