Never used the Sierra on game yet but they shoot really well sabotless in the Super DISC. Expansion should be pretty intense though. The jacket is thin and the lead is soft.

For deer, a 200 grain 40 caliber XTP in a crush rib , driven by 70 grains of 3f Swiss. Velocity from my Black Diamond Super 45 XR, 1800 fps. For bear, a 357 caliber 180 grain XTP in an MMP, over 60 grains of 3f Swiss. Guessing on the velocity, but that charge gave a 180 40 cal 1750 fps. Good luck to all! Tag early and often.

This year during rifle season I will be using a Knight Ultra Lite, shooting 120grs. of T7-2f ignited by a Remington 209-4 primer. The bullet will be the new Lehigh .452x265 gr. all-copper HP. in a MMP HPH-24 sabot. I will use this same load for both Whitetail and elk (elk if I could... In Idaho during ML season I am required to use a full bore lead conical - we are still lost in yesterday). I know it is way more than I need for Whitetail deer but the bullet fly's so well and with the weight will be less effected by mother natures existing conditions.

You can see it here compared to a Barnes Expander...

This is the first target I shot with this new bullet... + the velocities that were achieved...

I have used an estimated BC computed on the Barnes calculator to construct this ballistic chart.

I have 2 deer tags and an antlerless Moose tag in the same zone so my load is:

T/C Omega
Barnes 290gr TEZ
77gr (weighed) Blackhorn 209
Federal 209A shotshell primer

:yeah:

My 58 cal Hawken likes 80 grains of OE 2F, .570 Hornady L/B with a .018 patch with Jonathan's ANTI-RUST and LUBE and to fire it up, CCI Magnum Percussion #11 CAPS.

Ray............... GOOD LUCK EVERYONE :!: :!: :!:

Hoping for better expansion vs my old load of .44 cal 300 grain xtp (non-mag) over 80 grains BH209.
