Good for you and the young lad. I can see why you had no blood. That shot was a bit high and forward but it did the job. Those young nerves can cause havoc with shooting ability. After close to 60 years and a lot of big game under my belt I still get "the jitters" whenever I see an animal I can shoot. But now I can control it. If there comes a time when those jitters stop then that's the time I'll hang it up.

Great story and congrats to your son. I imagine it took a while to wipe that smile off his face.
Truth be told - life doesn't give you lemons. God gives you trials to test your faith.
You did good working through your situation and it turned out with a memory that will last the rest of your lives.
