Youth hunt with my grandson

I spent some time building my son his own MZ this year out of an HR Huntsman .50. It had some rust in the last 4 " of barrel so I had it cut and re-crowned to 16.25" and put a youth stock on it. He shoots right at 1" groups at 50 yds off his tripod and about 6-8" off hand with XTP 200/MMp Blue 50/40 SAbot over 50 or 60gr of BH209. They chrono right at 1225fps for 50 grn load and 1395 for 60gr. Ive played with it some myself and with 80 gr I'm getting 1" groups at 100 and 1565fps. Once he grows up, I think I'll keep this as my "still hunt" gun...


Some people don't understand why we waste so much money on kids stuff, but I can say that the face my son made this year when he got his first turkey was reward enough..
